Thanks for posting these beautiful covers. I'm really looking forward to the Cerebus covers book from IDW- it'll be worth the wait!

Hi Kousmichoff! Yes, it isn't going to be the EXHAUSTIVE covers treatment I had hoped for when I signed with IDW for the book(s?) in 2012. Definitely one volume and definitely an average of one page per cover. But it definitely held my interest while I was proofreading it. Where I didn't have a story about the cover, Gerhard usually did.

IDW, of course, has to to take into account CEREBUS' level of popularity: how many CEREBUS completists there are and how deep their pockets are. And they have to weigh that against which books they have the rights to that are a license to print money. The latter is always going to take precedence both in production and on the print schedule.

That's a very different publishing "mindset" from "These are my books. I created them. It's up to me to make sure that all of them are in print and stay in print."

I signed for the COVERS TREASURY because I knew I was never going to do a COVERS book myself. 16 volumes in black and white needing to be remastered and kept in print is enough on my plate.

So... Is the book going to happen, or isn't it?

The date seems to keep getting pushed back...

I will be getting a copy the day it comes out.

Hi Cerdic! Your guess is as good as mine. I turned in the last batch of corrections -- 23 of them, some of them "repeats" some of them new -- to Justin Eisinger in March. Chris Ryall, editor-in-chief sent me a fax last month (having to do with SDOAR) where he mentioned that he THOUGHT the book was done and was on the way to the printer (in South Korea).

Tim W has a digital copy of my "last 23 corrections" fax here at AMOC and will be posting it here the same week that the book ships so everyone can see what corrections were made and what corrections weren't.

A few times, I mentioned that I thought it would be nice if someone from IDW would post a definitive Here's Where We Are here at AMOC -- I suggested taking some cellphone pictures in Justin's office -- and field some questions. But, that was years ago.

I think Amazon posted something about the book "coming soon" but I don't know if that's just a kind of "automated kick in the ass" thing they do with suppliers when a book has been delayed for, like, YEARS.

If I hear anything, I'll let you all know right away!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for you response!

So, we are none the wiser.

But at least we KNOW that we are none the wiser...
