In last week's update, Dave implied that all the CEREBUS books are currently available, with the sole exception of the (soon to be remastered) READS volume. I was curious therefore to see that the PAGE 45 website currently lists 6 of the 16 CEREBUS books as being 'unavailable'. A quick email to PAGE 45 got this response (which I hope they don't mind me posting here):

...the reason some titles show up as unavailable is because it can take us so long to get restocks sometimes, if at all. Diamond UK haven’t had stock of some volumes for months and months.

Is it worth Dave / Sandeep giving DIAMOND (US) a nudge to get CEREBUS better distribution to all UK shops?

I'll vouch for Page 45 as "one of the good guys". Got Dave to sign my Cerebus #1 at one of their signings and a nice Katchoo sketch from Terry Moore on another; definite champions of independents.

Can someone post WHICH CEREBUS trades Diamond UK is citing as being unavailable? I'm talking to Matt, my product manager next Thursday and I'd like to be able to give him specific information! Thanks!

To be clear, it's the PAGE 45 website which says the following volumes are "unavailable":
High Society, Jaka's Story, Reads, Rick's Story, Going Home, Form & Void

...and this just received by email from Stephen:

"I just want to emphasise that with Diamond as the only distributor of CEREBUS trades, we are entirely at their mercy when it comes to supply. It isn't Page 45 idly contemplating whether to reorder each week. Every single book at Page 45 comes up automatically for reorder once stock drops below a certain minimum.

With almost every other title Page 45 uses multiple distributors so we can keep each volume of each title permanently in stock.

FYI Diamond UK are, as of 6.31am today, only listing nine CEREBUS volumes in stock in the UK and declares that JAKA'S STORY, READS and GOING HOME are out of print... at which point they won't even accept reorders."

Ah. So Sandeep's "basically done" was, as Mark Twain said in another context, greatly exaggerated.
